As I'm bed ridden part of the day, till my legs remember they are part of me and also, till the sun comes out .. The latter, which means I sometimes don't bother getting out of bed. ;D I've been watching "on demand" stuff on my I pad.

Masterchef mmmm .. Food!
What else is out there worth watching? Don't say the ice thing with Mr. Attenborough though as I cried like a baby at the first one when those evil killer whales ganged up on that lonesome sealion and ate it.

Almost nothing.. as per usual.
An Idiot Abroad just came to an end for series 2. Not as funny as the first series I thought, but still plenty to enjoy.
Life's Too Short just started (I'm totally Gervais centric it seems). Episode one was okay, but I was expecting more from it. Warwick Davis is just doing an impression of Ricky Gervais' acting it seems.

Was looking forward to viewing Life's Too Short,what a let down that was.
As Dave says when Warwick Davis speaks you kind of hear Ricky Gervais's voice.
Gave up on Idiot Abroad 2 same old same old.
When i get a minute i'll catch up on Jimmy McGovens afternoon dramas Moving Out

Almost nothing for me too. Did watch a National Geographic the other night on the Mayan calendar.......the world is going to end on 21 December, 2012....Also just got on loan the DVD of The Killing which friends have been raving about. Oh, and finally got to see the third season of Breaking Bad-good stuff-worth seeing if you haven't already.

The Killing was great! The original series is better though. I enjoyed The Jury which has just been on, nice to see Jo Hartley in it! Also talking about spotting people, I was watching Family Fortunes, make of that what you will; and I have a feeling I spotted Gadge demonstrating the prizes?!

I'm planning on catching up with The Killing II but, until then I've regularly been trying to watch/catch up with:
The Story of Film: An Odyssey
Life's too Short (Give it a rest, Ricky)
Pan Am
and... erm... Sorority Girls.
The latter was down to curiosity. I expected them to be middle class lasses who pretend to be high society but who are ultimately slags. Turns out they're backward, freemason mentalists. Mixed with reality TV.
Pan Am's a weird one. I sorta like it. Its trying to get on the back of Mad Men's coat tails but episodes move faster and tend to resolve themselves like a 70s detective show. It does the whole Mad Men thing of everyone having secrets but then blows the lid on them inside each 45 minute episode. Also features a decent spy sidestory which would've been better if the lass that does the spying wasn't such a dunce.
Apparently its being cancelled due to poor viewing figures. Features some really ropey CGI planes taking off and Christina Ricci's giant head.

Yes, very sad. I've now finished season 1 of The Killing (Danish version). Watched it on DVD (behind the times), but it still counts as TV, I think  Liked it a lot. Inevitablty (and boringly) I have to compare it to The Wire (depth, plus all the inter-linked politics stuff) and on that count, it didn't quite stand up for me (The Wire has just set the bar too high), and also brought to mind the French series Spiral too. But very, very good. High production values and liked the two main characters (Lund and side-kick Meyer) very much. Wanted to keep watching. My only gripe-sorry, I'm just very picky-was the mother, who only seemed to have two expressions-sad and surprised-she ran the gamut of emotions from A to B, as Dorothy Parker once famously said (or bitched-meeoow). Definitely recommend it to anybody reading, if you haven't yet seen it. PS. I love Harry Hill's TV Burp ;D |

Just catching up with the sitcom Friday Night Dinner. It's good fun. Written by Robert Popper (the other one in Look Around You).
It's got Simon Bird from the Inbetweeners in it, and Tamsin Grieg from Black Books. Basically it's about a weekly Friday meal where the two sons of the family go home for a dinner. It's a bit like Grandma's House.

BLOODY HELL!
I just watched the first episode of Black Mirror on Channel 4. Written by Charlie Brooker. 2 more episodes to go, but they are all individual stories, and Brooker sights The Twilight Zone as some form of inspiration for the ideas.
Epsiode one: The National Anthem.
Holy heck! I don't think I've ever sat through anything like that before.
Totally gripping, engaging, gut-wrenching, horrendous and thought provoking.
I'm not going to describe the story at all, just go and watch it on 4OD. Just be warned that it is quite sick.... but not in any visual sense, just in its ideas.
I put it on at about 1.30am thinking, "I'll just watch the first 10 minutes and see what it is like". ... but no chance! Just totally gripped and shocked after the main revelation is made in the first five minutes. You will definitely be thinking "WHAT THE F**K? Did I hear that correctly". haha
I thought it will surely play out as a comedy from there on in, but no, it's played as a fully straight drama, making the sick idea feel all the more horrendous and real.
Definitely worth a watch if you don't mind a sick idea or two!
