Just heard that Meggy died off screen in 1987 whilst having a dump!

Hi shipmates, captain Thribb here, did anyone spot me and my lady wife (circled) in the background at Mr Squires' crimbo get-together? It was all a bit of a blur but defo there ;D btw do any of you recognise Emily Aston as Mr Squires' young lady?

Nice one Paul!
Being so distant and out of focus is actually really cool I reckon! I mean, you've already had far more starring roles!
Emily Aston! I did wonder where I had seen her before.. what a chump I am.
Also, did I see a brief glimpse of Ladene Hall as one of the nurses in the stomach pump scene?

Someone of Twitter was just asking where the scene with Shaun at Smell's front door is.. because they were an extra in it. Obviously it simply got cut for whatever reason, but it seems that a scene in which Shaun goes round to talk to Small after she found him with Faye was shot. Will be an interesting deleted scene if it makes it onto the DVD

Oops I forget Shane is a big fan of American Idol but you get the point. I think you are the only person who got my 'Seacrest Out' reference. I don't know what that says about the pair of us but at least I'm not alone!!! I'm really, really blown away by everyone's feedback. I have given every ounce to this one and so it means a great deal when the hard work pays off. Until people see it, you never really know quite what you've made, so the last few days have been amazing as it seems like you've all seen the programme I wanted to make all those months ago when we set sail. Buzzing!!!! Shane your on to a winner with the rave centred plot in 1990. A lot of the top raves went on in the midlands and surrounds. Here's a good website with a timeline of the rave scene and all the major events. www.fantazia.org.uk/Scene/timeline.htmWe had a few around Northants organised by ESP in 1990 called Dreamscape if i remember rightly and Eclipse in Cov was a big one Sanctuary in Milton Keynes 7k in attendance 1991

Has Shane said he is making TIE90 or is it just rumour?

I think TiE 90 is on the cards. I suppose it's more a question of when rather than if since there's the Stone Roses gig, plus a number of other film projects in the pipeline. Just wanted to say, without being too preachy (I hope), it really has been brilliant to see a female character like Lol on the screen. I mean a female character being allowed to be a full rounded human being, whose life and experiences and emotions have been taken seriously. Not only are female leads still pretty rare, but usually end up falling into one stereotypical cliche or another, even as it might be more or less well done. I've said this before, so apologies for that, but I've never been put off by the largely male focused nature of Shane's films. Write/make what you know and all that-and the female characters have always been pretty strong/formidable types. It's great to see this 'film' (which it is really), have a female lead and it be done so incredibly well (massive kudos to Vicky, of course, for realising that). Just watched bits of the last episode on 4oD. Can't watch it all-hate watching stuff on the computer-but it was nice to watch with a bit more distance and notice how much more filmic TIE 88 has been. Not just the pace (or allowing scene's to breath as Gareth said), but the whole thing. There really are some lovely shots-looking forward to seeing the whole thing in one, long, uninterrupted flow. That said, didn't really hate the ad breaks so much this time around, probably because the pace was so much slower and so even with ad breaks it didn't seem as fragmented as I personally found TIE 86. Did anybody notice the repeating Pot Noodle ad btw-was that contrived to stop Meadows film fans moaning? ;D When watching the end scene (Woody and Lol, prior to the montage), it made me cry again. I know Shane's not a massive fan of Leigh, so I hope this doesn't grate, but I'm completely unable to watch the 'don't break my heart' scene in Secrets and Lies without crying-and I've seen it loads of times. That's mainly because of the emotion and the fantastic way the actors perform it. I think this scene is going to have exactly the same impact on me-forever

Olivia Colman in Tyrannosaur would be right there in my mind also, but before these two performances It'd take me more than a moment to give a good answer. More to the point though those two performances would be right there in my mind if someone asked me my favourite performance.

on the female lead subject, I haven't seen 'The Girl With The Dragon Tattoo' so no idea what its about but is the girl with the dragon tattoo the lead?
EDIT: I ask because I noticed Daniel Craig was the first name and more prominent on the ad I saw
