A proper film! Hoorah! I also really love the idea of the Transformers film, but one can't help fear a pile of crap. Directed by Michael Bay Release date 07-04-07 Anyway, take a look at the teaser trailer over at www.transformersmovie.com/Nothing much in it really, but I like the way it implies that Transformers attack Earth! Could be fun! I'm just fearing the usual inclusion of some annoying kids. When is the Gobots film released then?

I saw the trailer or A Scanner Darkly just the other day - it looks awesome. Richard Linlater's work is so diverse!

Waking Life, the other film was very experimental (I think the process is called rota-scope, or something similar - the actors are shot with regular cameras, then the animators literally paint over them). With A Scanner Darkly, he had a much bigger (but still paltry compared to most Hollywood pics) budget to play with. As I said, the trailer does look amazing.

actually thinking about it i dont know how they would try to do the scramble suit without some sort of cgi animation.
if you havent read the book some undercover dude wears this suit when he meets his bosses so noone even them know who is undercover and the scramble suit is just thousands of faces/bodies allflickering from one to another.
see what i mean? i cant even describe the thing.

Not long finished the chapter where Bob Arcter (the undercover guy) is doing the sort of, show, of the suit.. and as I'm reading it I'm like wtf? haha but I sorta got it. Charles Freck is an awesome character so far in the book, his mates telling him he can make cocain out of like some spray, and he can sell it to donna and she'd probably fuck him, and he's like "hmm I dunno man" brilliant. Edit: and he wants of the drug, I dunno he just seems like a cool guy know what I mean. Surrounded by crazyness. He's awesome.

I'm hesitant about A Scanner Darkly for two reasons, first I love the Novel and Philip. K Dick, second I fricking hate Keanu Reeves! It would of been nice to see Terry (yet another project unfilmed) Gilliam's take on it.

Doesn't really belong in this thread, but take a look at this stinking review for Oliver Stone's World Trade Center. It seems to be as bad as I feared it would be after seeing the sickly Bruckheimer style trailer. The Guardian Review

Anyone see in Empire they're making a new Teenage Ninja Turtles film? With CGI?
