Jill.... Bad Taste and Braindead are pretty much unlike any other horror/gore films (although I'm sure Companero can put me straight there). Both of them have a fantastic sense of mischievious fun running through them that other similar films hardly ever have.... plus Braindead has some of the best quotable lines ever!
"I kick ass for the lord!" "Your mother ate my dog!"... "Not all of it."
Oh.. and don't forget Selwin the zombie baby! You can't go wrong! However, they are both gory to a degree that I had never seen before... Braindead especially! The strange sense of fun mixed with tonnes of gore is an unusual experience!
Bad Taste trailer for some low-budget larks!
Meet the Feebles trailer (I've not seen this before!):
Here's the Braindead trailer as featured on the Bad Taste VHS:
Heavenly Creatures trailer:
Can't leave out The Frighteners Trailer now that I've started. Quality scary fun!

Not at all, Dave – there really is nothing like Peter Jackson’s earlier splatter/gross-out flicks (though believe it or not, I've still not seen BRAIN DEAD). There’s a really quirky sense of humour in BAD TASTE and MEET THE FEEBLES which certainly compensates for the ickiness. I must admit, I’m also a big fan of THE FRIGHTENERS – it's a great film.

HARD CANDY is good - very unsettling (even if it becomes a little too contrived for my liking). Definitely worth renting, as I really don't think you'd want to watch it again and again, mate.

ooh,Bad Taste, now that is quality. I do think that knowledge of the effort that went into making it does make it even better, like the gunshots made by scratching the actual celluloid? Jil, like i said, i loved Morvern Callar cos id read the book, its not plot driven, nothing really happens, its visual poetry conveying emotions (sunsets etc), plus Samantha Morton is my favourite living actress, so for me its a no-brainer. Would anyone want to watch LOTR more than once ? It is as Clerks 2 puts it, 3 films about walking..

Clerks 1 and 2... two films about not walking.
Even though I'm not a Kevin Smith fan Clerks is a good film and I'll rent the second but I doubt I'll like it.

'American Movie, wow that takes me back! saw it years ago on TV and thought it was brilliant.' Hyde, you might already know (?), there is an American Movie website where you can buy related stuff, including 'Coven' and a CD by his mate (can't recall his name now) entitled 'Songs I Know' Seems the guy is STILL trying to get the cash together to make his epic-what a star! Obviously I can't wait to see This Is England, not bitter or jealous at all you bastards! Six months is nowt... Apart from that I'm mostly looking forward too The Prestige (the novel is absolutley brilliant) Chris Nolan, Christian Bale, Hugh Jackman, Michael Caine and Bowie! And another novel i've just read Stardust by Neil Gaiman, Matthew Vaughn directs this faerie tale, hope they've kept the adult theme, looking at the cast list I suspect they have, De Niro and Ricky Gervais are cast. Also Smokin Aces looks like it will be great, this years Kiss Kiss Bang Bang?, Joe Carnahan (NARC, which is a superb film) Directs what he calls a Felliniesque Action flick.

Yea I'm eager to see both . Apparently 'The Prestige' follows a narrative (structure) simlar to that of 'Memento'. Which I really loved. & what, as If I'm not going to want to see a De Niro film..
