Hi Dave , I didn't realise Trailer Park Boys had finally made it onto region 2 dvd, fantastic. I've been a fan for about 18 months myself like Dag since discovering it on paramount and have got the full hit of snide dvd's including the Chrimbo special. I've always described it to people as being very much like a drug addled redneck version of Shane type characters. Like you say the show has just got better with each series and the characterisations are immense. Series 3 the court scene in "If I can't smoke & swear I'm ****ed", I laughed 'til I hurt.

YouTube to the rescue! Like you DokDrain, I got hold of all the series and xmas special through suspect methods . But it's only because they aren't available here. Series one and two has just been released here, and I was more than happy to buy them officially.... I enjoy giving funds to stuff I enjoy! From Russia With the Love Bone!

hi dave, glad to see you've picked up on this. I watched the first episode or pilot the other week after i heard you and my mate banging on about it and i was hooked. At first its hard to take seriously, if you know what i mean, like its just too much and your like what is this amature shit but stick with it and the format really works in the same way the office works. The charters may seem way over the top and unreal but think about it, how many j rocs and the main dude with the burners and quiff have you met, loads.
Is it getting good reviews or anything in the U.S or over here as its tight as fuck when you see quality programs get dropped only to make way for more re runs of 2 pints of larger.

Hey JT! Another fan steps forward. Not sure about reviews.... but in America, the swearing is bleeped out! Haha... Knowing the show JT, you'll agree that that would make it too ridiculous to watch. When I was first told about Trailer Park Boys, the description put me right off.... petty criminals, drugs, guns, swearing.... just sounded like it could be totally shite. The style is fake documentary, so yeah there is shades of The Office in there, but Trailer Park Boys was first (although having said that, People Like Us comedy series on BBC did fake documentary before that on TV). Just been watching a couple of 'making of' documentaries (not sure how I got hold of em )... and it's a great story of friends making a very low budget film idea that was screened at a festival. A producer was in the audience, and just though to himself that there needs to be more Trailer Park Boys! So he contacted Mike Clattenburg the director, and they started pitching to TV channels. The producer in question is actually in the show as Ricky's Dad, Ray.

theres gonna be a film out and maybe some sort of spin off show for bubbles, who has to be one of the best characters ever in a tv show. I cant wait to see the one with his puppet. How long has it been on then if its before the office?
A funny thing it made me think about is i could basicaally remake it scene for scene with similar characters outta my town as im sure most of us could but just the pitch would get you thrown outta the door so kudos to these dudes for getting off there arses and getting it made.

Hey JT... the film just came out in Canada last Friday! Hope it gets some kind of release over here.
There is also another Trailer Park Boys film that was made before any of the series. It was just made as a one-off film and was spotted by a producer at a film festival. In this first film, Ricky and Julian are pet assassins!
DokDrain.... you're right there are some striking similarities beteen Ricky and Jumbo. The first Trailer Park Boys film was also in black and white.... another similarity to Shane's work (I'm clutching at straws there! haha).
Let's have another fave clip!
J-Roc "getting changed"... and also the rap he does at the end of the programme about the whole incident.

Hey Dokdrain.... I recently got round to investigating why Ricky is often called Reveen by people in Trailer Park Boys. Well, turns out he's a Canandian stage hypntoist and magician. The following picture shows why Ricky being called Reveen is funny!

You will not regret it! Season 1 and 2 (in one 3 disc set) is currently only available from HMV. HMV online has it for about £12.99. I think the actual HMV stores are charging nearer £16.99. I'm not letting this thread die until some more people get addicted to Trailer Park Boys too! ;D Have another clip: Ricky gets his one and only legal job as a mall security guard.. in charge of shopping carts! His mate Bubbles however makes a living off of carts.... "These carts are public domain Ricky!"
