That video is hilarious! The final fall is the icing on the clumsy-criminals cake! And when he tries to bottle the camera! hahahahaha Like Jill... I'm also interested to hear more of what you are making of TPBs Hyde. My experience seems to have been similar to yours. I watched the first season and thought it's all quite funny... it's alright. But as soon as I saw the first episode of season 2 it all suddenly became amazing. I couldn't believe the genius of Bubbles hanging around that grassy bank by the supermarket where all the shopping trolleys get dumped: "It's like a fucking goldmine down there." That line had me laughing for days. It says so much about the character of Bubbles in just one short sentence (and the way it is delivered). "I'll be back for those cock-suckers later" "These carts are public domain Ricky!"

I'm not good at remembering the details (women 'ey? Heads full of important stuff ) But I fell in love with TPB at the point where the sound boom operator was shot (Mrs Peterson's Dog?) For me that was when it all came together-the absurdity, the parody, the brilliant characters; the friendship/family theme. But I'm sure that Dave/Hyde you're right; the show really takes off with the entrance of Bubbles in season two. I'm waiting for 'Philosophy and TBP' !! These carts are public domain! Indeed. On one level this is a show about 'no brainers', but on another, it's very, very smart !

Hey Jill.... I think I may have stumbled across a big companion type of book for Trailer Park Boys on the Canadian Amazon or somewhere. Have you ever seen this on the web? Can't recall where I saw it now.
Jill.. do you have all the official import DVDs? If so.. would you be so kind as to list all the extras! haha.. maybe a right chore if there is tonnes. Don't bother with season one and two as I have the UK version and that has the same extras (I think). Season 6 isn't available to buy anywhere yet is it?

I still find it hard to believe that TPB hasn't caught the attention of terrestrial TV planners. I'm in total agreement about the slow build into seasons 2 & 3 although I can't think of a single episode that I would call substandard in any season. Season 3 is perhaps the point where it reached it's peak but I honestly believe that it's managed to maintain that level in the following seasons, something rarely achieved in 'sitcoms'. I don't think season 6 is available yet Dave, unless you manage to get a copy off Ebay, though I feel pretty sure if you do it won't contain many extras ! (Mine didn't)

I have it all already However, I will be first to buy the proper DVDs when they are released in the UK. I bought the series 1 and 2 set! That's proof! I think I will have to go for an import copy of the film when it is released in Canada on the 20th February.

Dave, I only have season 1-3, plus the Xmas special; season4-6 and pilot are copies my daughter made for me. Like you, I hope to replace them eventually. Season 3 is currently on loan to a friend, but I should get it back in a few days and will then list the extras for you. On the Xmas special: F*ck up reel; Alternate takes; Extended Takes; Deleted scenes; F*cking featurette-Trailer Park Boys Xmas Special From Sh*t Flurries to Sh*t Blizzards (this is really excellent and I am sure something you'd really appreciate, Clattenburg taking about the making of, lots of technical stuff, bits on the music, effects and so on); Commentary track. If you want more detail, happy to post it.
I think we should all send a message to Clattenburg lobbying for 'One Last Shot' to be included on season 7. You probably already know this, but this is a short (much like Cart Boy) 'character development' piece for Lahey. It isn't available ANYWHERE as far as I can tell, but it sounds like it's worth seeing.

Re-watched Shit Blizzard this morning. What's the deal with Julian and Lahey? There's an exchange between them where Jim says 'I suppose I should be proud of you' and later Julian tells Lahey he's always thought so him as a father, followed by Lahey's thoughtful pause. There are hints in other episodes too. The sexy Julian stuff is confusing tho. Do you think all will be revealed in season 7 or, as with Trinity real dad, we'll never know? Loved Mike Smith's off camera line, during a temporary ceasation of the gun battle: 'Don't f*cking stop on my account'

Anyone notice Mr Lahey's daughter was in Hard Candy? Yes! ;D I saw Hard Candy in the cinema... then I think I got to series 2 of TPBs a few weeks later. It took me a few days to work out in my mind where I had seen her before. Jill.... I've never really thought about that Julian and Lahey exchange. I've not seen it for a while, but I'm sure I must have thought that Julian only said the 'father figure' stuff to Lahey as a cunning ploy to soften him up. However, as you point out, it doesn't really explain Lahey's line about him being proud of Julian. I may be getting confused here, but wasn't Julian brougt up by his grandmother? I guess in that respect, Lahey may have acted as a kind of father figure, keeping an eye on Julian and such like.... but before the Halloween incident of course. As for Trinity.... well, I love how her name is a clear reference to a three-way confusion. The Ricky, the Lucy, and the holy Julian.

Yes, my daughter told me that 'Treena' is now a rising Hollywood star, but I've never seen Hard Candy-she is great in TPB tho'. I think Julian was brought up partly by his grandmother, but also partly by Levi and his wife (the black couple who live on the edge of the park). His parentage is mysterious tho', which made me think that maybe there's something in the Lahey/Julian exchanges-on the other hand, the 'sexy' stuff suggests not...I'd never thought about Trinity's name-good one

The list of extras on the Trailer Park Boys Movie DVD seems to be: Deleted Scenes Extended Takes Lost Interviews Commentary Track Featurette "Trailer Park Boys the Movie: Behind the Scenes" Music Video "I Fought the Law" by The Big Dirty Band. I think I've got that featurette already. It's good mind you! Longer than the term 'featurette' implies too... at least 30 minutes I think.
