Well nobody told me that HMV are no longer the exclusive sellers of Trailer Park Boys DVDs!
Both Amazon and Play have the Season 1-6 boxset for £35!! That's stunning value! Especially as HMV are still charging £39.99 for just the season 5 and 6 boxset.
Get in there!!

Blimey that is a good deal. I'm missing S3 since my son lent it out to a mate and-surprise-it never came back. Caught an episode of S7 on paramount comedy the other night and laughed a lot, although it was one of the early episodes which I remembered liking first time around. Still can't decide whether or not to buy S7

Blimey that is a good deal. I'm missing S3 since my son lent it out to a mate and-surprise-it never came back. Caught an episode of S7 on paramount comedy the other night and laughed a lot, although it was one of the early episodes which I remembered liking first time around. Still can't decide whether or not to buy S7 I've been having a bit of a binge on TPB now that I have my box set! Glad I hadn't watched it in a while, because it felt quite fresh again, and there are loads of laughs I had forgotten about. So many throw-away lines that are solid gold..."Fucky the Drunk Clown" anyone? ;D Also watched the first 4 episodes of series 7 over the last couple of days.... and I think I'm with you Jill, I think I am enjoying it much more on second viewing. It definitely is a touch weaker though, and weirdly, I found the way many scenes are filmed in season 7 don't have that TPB feel. In episode one, it feels like it is shot and directed by someone else. I would be interested to know if there was a change of camera operators. Some of it is edited in such a way as to pull you out of the 'reality' of it. They have cutaway shots and close ups of hands doing things which really doesn't fit with the whole faux documentary style. Strange. I see that the final movie (Countdown to Liquor Day) is being released in Canada in October.... and Cyrus is high on the character list on iMDb! Nice! Cyrus is 'cool'. "Fuck off, I've got work to do!" A couple more episodes have joined my list of faves. The Cheeseburger Picnic episode with Lahey acting drunk, and the Community Day episode where Lahey is up for an award (despite no longer being in charge). So much TPBs, I need a little quote-a-thon to ease the build up of shit pressure. "So nobody has to listen to Pills-bandy-doughboy, or team sexy." "It's not rocket surgery" "Cos when the right-hook comes out... crazy mother-fuckers get knocked out" "Can you feel the way the shit clings to the air?" "...and you know what you get when you plant shit seeds?" "...shit weeds!" "Why don't you go and pave your cave you fucking caveman!" "Off the cheese-burgers!? That's crazy talk!"

Hey Dave, I know you're not going to believe this...but it's true...honest....
It's a while since I watched any TPB (that episode aside), but despite my sobriety these days, work is still driving me slowly bonkers and TBP continues to keep me on the tenuous side of sanity....I was in a meeting today, awaiting the arrival of two-dick- colleagues, who always ('strategically') turn up together and as they approached the meeting room, the phrase 'hey guys, captain arsehole and wonderboy have arrived' popped right into my head!
I am going to buy S7, I've decided. It is kind of sad in a way, 'cause when you watch it, you know you're watching the end of, but you're right there are still some real gems buried in there. My favourite moments (memories) remain Ricky and the raccoons, the telephone directory 'assault' and the identikit picture of Bubbles ;D, but I need to re-watch too for the other pearls tarnished by 'loch ness monster nuts' gags.
This is deeply sad..........
I received an email from Mike Clattenburg a while ago. This was in response to me posting on TBP.org saying, basically, 'you were great, thank you, but it's the right decision to end it.' He said 'thank you', so I guess it really was his decision to pull the plug before it became a Simpson's style travesty........
Will love it forever though!

Wow... an email from Mike Clattenburg! Did he say much else in it?
How could I forget the Ray-cuns (Raccoons). I love the revelation moment when Ricky works out what they are from a book. He brings it over to Julian to reveal his research and it's a double page spread from a toddlers book with one page displaying only: R r and the other page displaying a picture of a Raccoon with 'Raccoon' written beneath it. "ray-cuns!"

Not much really. It was only about three sentences, along the lines of (the standard) 'thank you for your kind comments, I really appreciate it' variety, but it was in the context of a thread where people were posting speculative stuff about the TV company pulling the plug, Clattenburg and the cast being keen to carry on etc. I'd basically said, TPB was brilliant, but it's the right decision to end it. I thought it was significant that he'd replied-like he agreed-but maybe he wrote a few lines to everybody.
I am also facebook friends with Lucy btw. This is deeply sad and tragic-a woman my age courting TV stars-although I was motivated to send a friends request as a kind of act of solidarity. You may or may not know that she was effectively sacked from her new job/role as a real life primary school teacher because in a magazine interview she made a few 'in character' Lucy type remarks (no swearing tho). How bloody ridiculous, seems the upper echleon's of Canada's educational establishments can't tell the difference between TV and reality.

Right, so I've re-watched season 7 now and also the "Say Goodnight to the Bad Guys" special.
Season 7 really does get worse as it goes along. The more time they spend in those bloody woods, the worse it gets! There's one episode where you see nothing of the Trailer Park, and I don't think it's a coincidence that that is the worst episode. TPBs is always about the ensemble of characters in and around the park, so just focussing on a few for a whole episode isn't right.
I had forgotten about the Conky resurrection! Oh man, how could I forget that! I think I erased it from memory because it was such crowd-pleasing idea... and not in a good way. They ruin it further by having Conky clearly talking without Bubbles moving his mouth.... thus missing the whole point of Conky and making the puppet seem like some mystical talking toy. Just wrong. The height of wrongness is reached in this area when Bubbles is supposedly talking to Ricky while Julian talks to Conky! The bit where Conky somehow phones the FBI while Bubbles is asleep is also rubbish.
The "Fuck goofs" (aka the rubbish Corey and Trevor replacements) are a total waste of time. Do we think they had a contract specifying that they could never speak? What a bad idea. At least if they spoke they may have had chance to come across as worthwhile, funny characters. It's great at the beginning of the series with all the Corey and Trevor memories and Ricky getting emotional... but then the series ruins it by introducing those two new numbskulls. "Meat dicks!"
So, thank the lord for "Say Goodnight to the Bad Guys" being pretty much back to classic form. Good old John Dunsworth pulling off the pinnacle of all his drunk acting in this one! Especially at the end when he can't help but kiss them as they are being arrested! haha. He even manages to give "Sexian" a little peck!
I love it when Randy gets his baby all covered in sweat and grease as he tries to feed it onion rings, and then Ricky and Lucy have to pat the baby down with slices of bread. ;D
"You'd better go on there Marty McGravy!"

I still haven't re-watched S7 apart from the one episode I happened to catch on the telly and I've still only seen Say Goodnight the once-on youtube. Your post's reminded me why I'm lacking enthusiasm. TBP is a 'world' and taking the characters out of that world was a mistake. I disagree with you about Conky a little bit though. The resurrection clearly was a bit of shameless crowd pleasing (and running out of ideas maybe), but I didn't object to it quite so much. I thought the ventriiliquist (that's spelt wrong, I'm sure) joke was quite funny and I sort of thought Bubbles had betrayed them and them blamed it on 'Conky' (his alter ego)-that we see Conky making the call was maybe Bubbles false memory/rationalisation? But yeah.........it was all a long way from the truly lovely and touching Mrs Peterson's Dog. Wonder what Clattenberg will do next? Be interesting to see it.

Interesting Clattenburg next project then.
Didn't watch that link to DICKS when you first posted it for some reason. Just watched it now. Hmmmmm.... not all that good really. Good to see Jonathan Torrens playing a different character... although the repetition of him saying, "I'm Jonathan Torrens" wasn't funny at all... know'm say'n! Rob Wells is just a non-dumb version of Ricky.
But anyway, I just found the trailer for COUNTDOWN TO LIQUOR DAY!!!!!! Looks like an epic ending to the TPBs saga. Cannot wait! Looks like the proper Trinity is it this time too. Never really found out why she wasn't in the first film. Check out the 'unconventional' duel between Lahey and Ricky at the end of the trailer! hahahahahaha ;D

Yeah, Dicks looks kind of rubbish. I really don't see Clattenburg/Wells turning out to be a one trick pony, so maybe this is an attempt to squeeze a bit out of TPB by selling the Ricky character to a US audience?? The trailer looks great- 'thinking, you're thinking' See it gets a Canadian release end of September, so I suppose we'll be able to see it one way or another pretty soon

seen Countdown to Liquor Day yet Dave? Not yet..... I'm guessing that you have then.... naughty! Forgot about the release actually. Had a look at a few premier night videos on YouTube last week. Wonder if I'll manage to wait for the region1 DVD again like I did with the previous film. They should release the films straight to DVD in the UK really, especially as now all the TV series is available in the UK on DVD... well not series 7 yet.... or Say Goodnight to the Bad Guys.
