Just ordered the Countdown to Liquor Day DVD from Amazon Canada. Worked out about £22 for delivery within 2 - 4 weeks. You can get cheaper delivery, but it says it is expected to take 10 -12 weeks! Sod that! There is also speedy international courier for delivery within 3 - 5 days, but that takes the price up to £30. I can wait a week or two.
Can't wait to see it! Apparently it features a commentary and a fan commentary! There's also plenty of people raving about the alternate ending. Obviously I didn't read too much about this because I don't want to know!

Re-reading my message I see that I have implied that the shipping cost alone is £22! This is not the case! It is about £15 for the DVD and £7 for the P&P

THREAD HIJACK. Ive taken to watching a TV show far too much, a tv show that will have you in stitches and then make you weep, gently. It highlights the dangers of drugs/alcohol and ego's, whilst reminding you of the important aspects of feminism, kind of. If you havent heard of it, watch it. Eastbound and Down - ITS FUCKING AMAZING www.hbo.com/eastboundanddown/Danny McBride & Will Ferrell genius. Watch them all, then watch them again.

Hmmm I was interested until you mentioned Will Ferrell. I will have to ponder on this dilemma for a while.

Well he only has a cameo type role in a couple of episodes, its not too much Ferrell in your face.
It took me a couple of episodes to get into, im hooked though.
I should really check out Trailer Park Boys eh..

Well I never! My Countdown to Liquor Day DVD arrived on Wednesday which was only 3 days after I ordered it from Canada! What excellent service, especially as the delivery I paid for only guaranteed arrival within 2 - 4 weeks!
Still haven't seen it yet though.

No review yet Dave? Can't believe you still haven't gotten around to watching it Will look out for that show Davros. Well.... mixed thoughts! I did enjoy the film, but it wasn't all that funny really. Strange. So, it was good, but not as funny as you expect it to be, yet somehow this doesn't detract from the... errr... goodness. The behind the scenes making of is actually funnier! Odd! Because as usual they all stay in character and act as though the crew are annoying them following them about. They talk about how Clattenberg often stirs things up just so he can get some good footage for his TV show... like he'll tell Ricky that Lahey was just calling him a dope. haha. Bubbles is explaining this to camera as Ricky is sat next to him and Ricky goes, "What? did Lahey just call me a dope?"... to which Bubbles replies, "No Ricky, it was just an example of what Clattenberg might say." Ricky: "Oh right... cos I was just about to flip out there" Oh yeah, the film I thought would end with something amazing, surprising or spectacular.... it doesn't. I found that odd too.

Apologies for the thread necromancy, but I recently watched series 1-6 again and this sitcom is still pretty funny. I've seen the films and various specials too (and series 7), but the first six series are the best.
For me, it is the best sitcom of the 00s - high praise indeed. It's a shame it isn't more widely known.

The Drunk and on Drugs Happy Fun Time Hour Official announcement: Sorry if you already posted this Jill, I currently don't have time to go back and check. Sounds like it could be good, but has a huge potential to be crap I feel. No Mike Clattenburg (writer/director)? Hmmm... not convinced.... but still looking forward to it! Love the title!

Never did buy season seven and I've yet to get around to the last film (shame on me). My son's verdict on the last film was 'O.K' so haven't been in a hurry-will get around to it eventually. 1-6 and the Xmas special are great though. It's a mystery to me why TPB never caught on big time in the UK-I suppose it's another one of those things you need to give time to realise just how good it is-so death by remote control maybe? Will watch out for the new series, although 'kid's TV presenters on hallucinogenic drugs' sounds like TISWAS to me ;D

Will watch out for the new series, although 'kid's TV presenters on hallucinogenic drugs' sounds like TISWAS to me ;D It was never broadcast on a terrestrial channel in the UK, which is a great shame. I could have seen it being a cult hit on E4 or perhaps BBC3. The new series could be okay, perhaps on a par with Dicks: Ahem. Were the live shows Ricky, Julian and Bubbles Community Service Variety Show and The Ricky, Julian and Bubbles, Drunk, High and Unemployed tour ever recorded on video? I'd love to see them. Was there a soundtrack CD released for the Countdown to Liquor Day film? I've never seen one. Shame if there wasn't as I'd have liked to hear more songs from J-Roc and Bubbles. One of my favourite episodes is from season six - High Definition Piss Jugs. There is something about "piss jugs" that is just funny in the context of the show.

Were the live shows Ricky, Julian and Bubbles Community Service Variety Show . Looks like all 6 parts of this are on youtube: Haven't searched for the other tour show. My favourite seasons are still 1 and 2. Hard to pick a favourite bit, although the bit when Ricky burns down Ray's trailer and Bubbles arrives (at the totally burned out shell) and walks through the door always makes me smile
